History
An Anselmet winemaker is documented at Villeneuve as far back as 1585, but the modern estate dates to 1978, when Renato Anselmet went from home production to bottling his first 70 bottles. His son Giorgio grew Maison Anselmet into one of the Aosta Valley's most esteemed producers, known for barrel-fermented Chardonnay and the red blend Le Prisonnier.
