History
Contesa was founded in 2001 by Rocco Pasetti, formerly director of a major Abruzzo cooperative, who set out to make quality wine in a region long dominated by bulk; the name, meaning 'dispute', nods to that struggle. An early champion of vinifying Pecorino as a serious white, he works with his sons Franco and Ugo, with the Vigna Corvino Montepulciano among his mainstays.
