History
The Cantina del Trasimeno cooperative was founded in 1957 by growers around Lake Trasimeno and, after a 1980s-90s restructuring, refocused on traditional varieties under the Duca della Corgna brand, named for the 16th-century Della Corgna dukes of Castiglione del Lago. It is the leading name for the local Trasimeno Gamay, in fact a Grenache.
