History

Alois Lageder traces its roots to 1823, when Johann Lageder began trading wine in Magrè. In 1934 the family acquired the Löwengang estate that is still its home, and in 1995 built a pioneering eco-friendly, gravity-flow winery. Under Alois Lageder the estate became the leading champion of biodynamic viticulture in Alto Adige, working with some thirty grape varieties and treating diversity of site and cultivar as its signature. Flagship bottlings include the Löwengang Chardonnay and the Cor Römigberg Cabernet.
