History
Vie di Romans, named for an ancient 'road of the Romans' crossing the estate, is one of Friuli's great white-wine addresses. Gianfranco Gallo took over the family property in 1978 and transformed it, reorganising the vineyards, building a new cellar in 1989, and from 1990 vinifying each site separately and releasing the whites two years after harvest. Its Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Friulano from the Isonzo gravels are benchmarks of richly textured, age-worthy Friulian white.
