History
Carlo Gaggioli, a veterinarian turned vintner, took over the Bagazzana vineyard at Zola Predosa in the 1970s and bet on the difficult Pignoletto grape.
He made the first sparkling wine of pure Pignoletto and helped found the Consorzio dei Colli Bolognesi; the estate makes about 130,000 bottles.
