Terraced vineyards on the volcanic sandy soils of the Campi Flegrei west of Naples, near the Antro della Sibilla (the Sibyl's grotto) that gives the estate its name, planted to old ungrafted Falanghina and Piedirosso whose sandy soils escaped phylloxera.

Campi Flegrei DOC

History

La Sibilla is the reference name of the Campi Flegrei, the volcanic 'burning fields' west of Naples. The Di Meo family has grown vines here for five generations on sandy soils so pure that the vines are ungrafted, an extreme rarity, giving fully ripe fruit at low alcohol. Its Falanghina and Piedirosso, including the Cruna DeLago Falanghina, are benchmarks for this dramatic seaside appellation.
