History
Perticaia, named for the plough in old central-Italian dialect, was founded in 2000 by Guido Guardigli, a veteran winemaking director who became a proprietor on retirement, buying an estate near Montefalco and planting it largely to Sagrantino. A dependable Montefalco reference, its Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso are its mainstays; the estate obtained organic certification in 2021.
