History
Riecine was founded in 1971 by John Dunkley, an Englishman, and his Italian wife Palmina, who believed in pure Gaiole Sangiovese at a time when many chased extraction and Bordeaux varieties. After the Dunkleys' deaths in 1998 the estate passed to the Baumann family and, from 2011, to Lana Frank. Its La Gioia, first made in 1982, is an early Super Tuscan built on Sangiovese.
