History
Badia a Coltibuono, the 'Abbey of Good Harvest', is one of Chianti's most historic estates, where monks planted vines in 1051 and the Giuntini-Stucchi Prinetti family has made wine since 1846. Farming organically in the cool high hills of Gaiole, it makes classic, ageworthy Chianti Classico and Riserva and the pure Sangiovese Sangioveto, a wine that helped show the grape's potential.
