History
The Nicolosi Asmundo family has farmed vines at Milo on Etna's east slope for over three centuries; Don Carmelo was made Baron of Villagrande in 1727. In 1869 Paolo Nicolosi built the cellar and first vinified white and red separately, an ancestor of today's Etna Bianco Superiore; Carlo Nicolosi later wrote the 1968 Etna DOC rules. Marco Nicolosi is the tenth generation.
