History

Count Paolo Marzotto, of the Veneto textile dynasty, fell for the Palermo hinterland and founded Baglio di Pianetto in 1997, planting high-altitude vineyards at Santa Cristina Gela. Now fully organic, it is known for the white Ficiligno (Insolia and Viognier) and reds like Ramione and the Nero d'Avola Cembali.
