History
Candido was founded in 1929 by Francesco Candido, who reclaimed marshland near San Donaci and Guagnano for vines, and in 1957 was among the first Salento estates to bottle its own Negroamaro. His son Alessandro took over in 1978. Its Negroamaro Cappello di Prete is one of Puglia's most celebrated wines, and Duca d'Aragona a flagship blend.
