History
Cascina Pugnane, of the Ghisolfi brothers Enzo and Ivo, sits on the Pugnane hill at the meeting point of Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo zone.
Under grandfather Pietro the family gathered about five hectares in the prized Bussia cru and below Barolo, buying the Pugnane hill just before the Second World War - a property for almost seventy years.
Fewer than 2,500 bottles of Barolo leave the cellar each year, led by the single-vineyard Barolo Bussia and Barolo Pugnane.
