History

The Sertoli Salis, a Valtellina noble family, have been linked to wine for over four centuries and were among Italy's first to bottle, in 1869. The modern Conti Sertoli Salis company was founded in 1989, working from cellars beneath the 17th-century Palazzo Salis at Tirano; it makes benchmark Valtellina Superiore and the Sforzato Canua from dried Nebbiolo.
