History
Walter De Battè is widely regarded as the finest maker of Sciacchetrà and the most famous grower of the Cinque Terre, working steep sandstone terraces above Campiglia from a cellar dating to 1860. A pioneer of skin-contact whites here, holding that 'grape skins are the territory', he later worked under the Primaterra brand and revived the red Çericò in 2002.
