History

Tenuta Fontana is run by the young sibling entrepreneurs Mariapina and Antonio Fontana, heirs to five generations of a Sannio wine family at Pietrelcina, in the province of Benevento.

Working with lesser-known native grapes and old cultivation methods, the estate is best known for reviving Pallagrello: from 2018 it was granted the concession to restore and manage the historic Bourbon vineyard of the Reggia di Caserta, bringing back the 'royal wine' — its OroRe Pallagrello Nero — served at the Bourbon court more than a century ago.
