History
Galardi was created in 1991 when four cousins set out to make a world-class wine from a tiny family plot on the Roccamonfina volcano, far north of Campania's classic Taurasi zone. With Riccardo Cotarella consulting from 1993, they grafted old rootstock to Aglianico and Piedirosso and released the first Terra di Lavoro in 1994; the wine quickly became one of southern Italy's cult reds.
