History
Vignalta is the estate that put the Colli Euganei, the volcanic hills southwest of Padua, on the fine-wine map. Founded in 1980 by Lucio Gomiero and two friends, it pioneered high-density planting and Bordeaux-style reds on the Euganei, its Gemola a benchmark Merlot-Cabernet Franc, while its sweet and sparkling Fior d'Arancio, from Moscato Giallo, defines the area's aromatic DOCG.
