History
Maculan revived Breganze and the art of Veneto sweet wine. Giovanni Maculan founded the winery in 1947, but it was his son Fausto, an oenologist trained at Conegliano, who from 1973 put quality first and became one of Italy's great innovators. His Torcolato, a golden sweet wine from air-dried Vespaiola grapes, is the emblem of Breganze, made by only a handful of producers, of which Maculan is by far the largest.
