History
Carolina Gatti is a natural vigneronne at Ponte di Piave, near Treviso, working family land that goes back to the late 1800s; she took a degree in oenology in 2012 with a thesis on the local Raboso del Piave.
She farms about five hectares organically - some vines over eighty years old, trained on the near-extinct high 'belussera' system - within a self-sufficient mixed farm of livestock and grain.
Deliberately outside the appellation rules, her sparkling wines (the col-fondo 'Bolle Corsare', the 'Pinpinea' pet-nat rosato) are bottled as table/IGT wine rather than DOC Prosecco.
