About twelve hectares of vineyard between Sorano and Pitigliano on the volcanic tufa of southern Maremma, organic since 1994; old-vine Ciliegiolo (the San Lorenzo vineyard is over sixty years old) plus Sangiovese and whites.

History
In 1990 Edoardo Ventimiglia, a Roman documentary filmmaker, and Carla Benini, an agronomist from Trentino, left Rome for the tufa hills of Sorano, buying a ruined house and mostly abandoned land; their first harvest came in 1997. Sassotondo became a reference for Ciliegiolo, above all the old-vine single-vineyard San Lorenzo.
