History
Poliziano was founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti at Montepulciano, and grew above all under his son Federico Carletti, an agronomist who took over in the late 1970s. A quality leader of Vino Nobile, its single-vineyard Asinone, first made in 1983, is one of the appellation's benchmarks; Federico also led the Consorzio and helped launch a quality alliance of producers.
