History
Vittorio Fiore, the noted enologist, and his wife Adriana made Poggio Scalette an estate of its own in 1991 on the Ruffoli hill at Greve; their son Jurij, trained at Beaune, runs it.
From old Sangiovese they make the single-vineyard Il Carbonaione, one of Chianti's benchmark pure Sangiovese wines.
