History
Giovanni Panizzi bought Podere Santa Margherita outside San Gimignano in 1979, reinventing himself at fifty, and after a decade released his first Vernaccia in 1989. He championed a serious, age-worthy Vernaccia di San Gimignano, pioneering its Riserva (from 1990). Simone Niccolai bought the estate in 2005 and continues its quality path, now organic.
