History
Fattoria Le Pupille is the estate that made Morellino di Scansano famous. Elisabetta Geppetti, the 'lady of Morellino', took over the small Maremma property in 1985 and, with the legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis, turned it into the appellation's leading name. Her Saffredi, first made in 1987, became a symbol of the Maremma's fine-wine potential, while her Morellino remains a benchmark for the Sangiovese of southern Tuscany.
