History
Isole e Olena is one of the estates that redefined Sangiovese. Paolo De Marchi took over in 1976 and, from 1980, made Cepparello, a pure Sangiovese from a selection of his best old vines aged in barrique, one of the first great Super Tuscans and a paradigm for the grape. Alongside it he made benchmark Chianti Classico and a celebrated Vin Santo.
