History
Grattamacco is the second-oldest estate of Bolgheri, founded in 1977 by Piermario Meletti Cavallari when the area was barely known for wine. A pioneer of the appellation, it was among the first to bottle a Bolgheri Rosso and, under the historic oak at Grattamacco, the founders of Bolgheri gathered for the photo that marked the birth of the DOC. Its Bolgheri Superiore is a Tuscan-coast benchmark, now made by the ColleMassari group.
