History
Fèlsina, founded in 1966 on the warm southern border of Chianti Classico, is a champion of pure Sangiovese. Refusing to add Cabernet or Merlot to its top wines, it makes the single-vineyard Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia and the Sangiovese Fontalloro, a wine that crosses the Chianti Classico boundary and is bottled as Toscana IGT, both benchmarks for the grape, alongside a renowned Vin Santo.
