History
Tenuta di Capezzana is the estate that defines Carmignano. Wine has been made on these hills for over 1,200 years, and a Latin contract of 804 already mentions its vineyards. The Contini Bonacossi family bought it in 1920 and has made the Villa di Capezzana, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet, since 1925, embodying Carmignano's centuries-old tradition of blending the local grape with 'uva francesca' (Cabernet) long before the Super Tuscans.
