History
Rivera is the estate most closely identified with Castel del Monte, the appellation named for the octagonal Swabian castle of Frederick II on the Murgia. Under Sebastiano de Corato the winery championed the local Nero di Troia grape, and its Il Falcone Riserva became the reference bottling for the zone; the Nero di Troia Riserva was recognised at DOCG level in the Castel del Monte hierarchy.
