History
Cantina Petrelli was founded by Paolo Petrelli in the 1950s in Carmiano, growing Negroamaro, Malvasia and other native Salento varieties on the family's Fondo della Chiusa estate, whose farmhouse dates to 1850 and was purchased by the family in 1920.
Paolo's son Giovanni took over the winery in 2000, and today he works alongside young oenologist Chiara, the third generation of Petrelli winemakers, producing Salento DOC reds, whites, rosé and sparkling wine.
