History
Coppo was founded in 1892 by Piero Coppo at Canelli, and its deep tuff cellars beneath the town, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, remain the heart of the estate. After Luigi Coppo's death in 1984 his sons focused on Barbera, creating the barrel-aged Pomorosso, a model of modern-style Barbera d'Asti and a repeat Tre Bicchieri winner.
