History
La Monacesca is the reference for Verdicchio di Matelica, the rarer inland cousin of the Castelli di Jesi. Casimiro Cifola built the estate from 1966 on the high, cool floor of the Matelica valley, releasing his first Verdicchio in 1973. The estate's Mirum Riserva, a rich, ageworthy Verdicchio, ranks the Cifolas among Italy's finest white-wine producers.
