History
Monte Rossa was founded in 1972 when Paola Rovetta and Paolo Rabotti began making Franciacorta by the traditional method; Paolo became the first president of the Consorzio Franciacorta in 1990. Their son Emanuele Rabotti expanded the estate to some 70 hectares and created the barrel-fermented prestige line Cabochon in 1987, the house's flagship.
