History
Frecciarossa was founded in 1919 when Mario Odero, a Genoese coal merchant, bought an old estate at Casteggio in the Oltrepò Pavese; a registration slip turned 'Fraccia Rossa' into Frecciarossa. His son Giorgio, trained in Burgundy and Champagne, championed Pinot Nero, and the flagship red Giorgio Odero still bears his name; Valeria Radici Odero now runs the organic estate.
