History
Cantina San Michele was founded by the Danesi family in 1980 on the Monte Netto hill near Capriano del Colle, in the years when the area's wine was still largely sold in bulk.
A new generation of Danesi cousins, all under 40, took over the estate and shifted the winery to full organic certification from 2018, rebuilding the range around nine labels across three lines while investing in wine tourism on Monte Netto.
