History

Cantine Taverna was founded by Cav. Pasquale Lunati in 1950 in Nova Siri; the family began viticultural experiments in 1985 with the Istituto di Enologia di Conegliano Veneto, among the first in the area to pursue quality winegrowing.

Now run by the third generation of the Lunati family across roughly 250 hectares of mixed farmland, the estate helped shape the Matera DOC and Basilicata IGT disciplinari and grows Greco, Primitivo, Aglianico and Montepulciano.
